How to merge PDFs and reorder pages on Android

Step by step

1. Get the PDFs ready. Make sure all PDFs that belong together are saved in Zilqaro, ideally in the same folder. Scan paper documents first with the built-in scanner.

2. Start merging. Open the merge function and select the PDFs that should go into one document.

3. Check the file order. Decide which PDF comes first, for example the application, then the attachments in the required order.

4. Edit pages. In the merged document you can move single pages, remove pages you do not need or add pages (Pro). This changes the merged PDF; the source PDFs stay untouched.

5. Save and check. Save the result and page through it once completely. Then share it with Android's share function.

Tips

• Keep the original: When you merge PDFs or edit pages, Zilqaro takes the pages over as images. Text, forms, links, digital signatures and other PDF properties are lost. Merging creates a new PDF and leaves the source PDFs unchanged; don't delete them, especially for forms and documents with links. Editing pages changes the saved PDF itself, so make a copy first.

• Follow the recipient's rules: authorities and companies often specify the order of documents. Sort accordingly.

• Remove blank pages: blank backs from a scan make the document longer without adding content.

• Watch the file size: some portals and mailboxes limit attachment size. Check before sending.

• Password for sensitive documents: with Zilqaro Pro you can protect a new PDF from photos or scans with a password when you create it. This is not available for PDFs that are already saved, imported or merged. Give the recipient the password through a different channel.

Free or Pro?

Both versions are ad-free. Merging PDFs and adding, removing or reordering pages in a saved PDF are Zilqaro Pro features. Free features include scanning, combining images into one PDF (with page order while creating it), opening and sharing PDFs, and up to 3 folders with up to 10 PDFs each. Also free: records (the number of records is not limited), PDF notes, voice notes, and deadlines and reminders. Each PDF note and voice note counts like a PDF towards the limit of 10 per folder.

You can try all features for 30 days without a credit card; the trial does not turn into a subscription automatically. Afterwards the free version keeps working. Zilqaro Pro is an annual subscription that renews automatically, €9.99 per year in Germany. You can cancel it in Google Play at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period; Pro stays available until then. Zilqaro is currently available on Google Play in Germany only. FAQ

Are my PDFs uploaded for merging?
Not by Zilqaro. The PDFs are processed on your device. Zilqaro runs no cloud of its own and needs no user account.

Do I need an internet connection to merge?
Not for merging itself. Zilqaro has no permission to make internet connections of its own; merging runs on your device. Buying and verifying Zilqaro Pro happens through Google Play. When you share the result with another app, that app transfers the data.

Do text, forms and links survive merging?
No. When you merge PDFs, Zilqaro takes the pages over as images. Text, forms, links, digital signatures and other PDF properties are lost. The source PDFs stay unchanged; keep them if you need these properties.

What happens after the 30-day trial?
The app keeps working as the free version. Merging, page editing and more than 3 folders or more than 10 PDFs per folder are then only available with Zilqaro Pro.
